Dog Attacks 8-Year-Old
Officials: Dog Had Not Been Previously Aggressive

YADKINVILLE, N.C. -- An 8-year-old boy is recovering after the family dog attacked him in Yadkinville.

Yadkin County emergency management services officials said the pit bull attacked the boy Saturday afternoon.

Officials said they boy's parents were both injured while trying to pull the dog off.

It all happened in the family's yard.

EMS officials say the dog was chained up and had not been previously aggressive.

The boy was taken to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center for treatment.
