A young boy alerts a woman that her dog is running loose and a short time later he’s attacked by that same dog.

When we talked to Rian Maguire he just got home from the emergency room.

In fact, he was still wearing his hospital bracelet and his arm was wrapped up in a sling.

The 8-year-old was attacked by a dog his mother says was as big as her son.

The Rottweiler mix was staying with his neighbor.

Friday afternoon, Rian walked next door to let the family know the dog was off its leash.

“He went past the owner and he jumped on me and pushed me on the ground and started attacking me,” said Rian.

It was his mother’s worst nightmare.

“I hear all of this screaming, just screaming bloody murder,” Susan Maguire said.

“Every where I looked there were bites.”

After Rian’s trip to the hospital the neighbor, who the dog was staying with, stopped by to check on the boy.

She didn’t want to talk to us, but said she was concerned for the child

After all of this Rian says he isn’t afraid of all dogs.

“It’s just that I’m scared of that dog,” he said.
