Child Bitten By Pit Bull

COLUMBUS, Ohio - A girl was bitten by a pit bill Sunday afternoon.
The incident happened in the 1300 block of Weber Road.

The dog was chained to a lawnmower in the owner's backyard and when the 2-year-old girl got close, it bit her in the face.

Animal control officers said this was a good reminder of why parents should talk to their kids about strange dogs.

"Most importantly, if you have a dog, whether it be a pit bull or any type of dog, they are animals and we have to monitor them," said Franklin County Animal Control Corporal Joe Rock. "And we have to monitor our children when they are around the animals because animals can't communicate and we don't know why, we don't know what inspired the attack"

The girl was taken to Children's Hospital.
